At Eagle Transmission, a fluid & filter change may be as low as $89.95 depending on the year /make/model of your vehicle. Many of today's high-tech transmissions require special blends of fluids, some of which are manufacture specific. Synthetic transmission fluids are becoming more of the norm in many transmission applications. Many front-wheel drive vehicles require additional labor to access the filter as well. We provide our customers with transmission service that is specific to their vehicle, therefore, there may be considerable variation in the actual cost for a transmission fluid & filter service.
What is the average cost of repairing a transmission?
There is no average cost to repair a transmission. Often there is a misconception between repairing a transmission and rebuilding a transmission. A typical transmission rebuild involves:
- The removal of the unit
- Complete disassembly Replacing all of the seals and gaskets Replacing any of the damaged bearings gears or drums
- Replacing or rebuilding the valve body Replacing the solenoid packs as needed
- Installing a reconditioned torque converter

Is it true that manual transmission is cheaper than other transmission types?

How often should I visit Eagle Transmission to have my vehicle checked?
Check your vehicle manual. Your manufacturer has stated how often you should visit a transmission shop. For most new vehicles, transmission fluid must be changed every 100,000 miles, and every 30,000 miles after that.
