What is the cost for transmission fluid & filter change?
There is no "one size fits all when it comes to transmission fluid & filter changes. At Eagle Transmission, a fluid & filter change may be as low as $89.95 depending on the year/make/model of your vehicle. Many of today's high-tech transmissions require special blends of fluids, some of which are manufacture specific. Synthetic transmission fluids are becoming more of the norm in many transmission applications. Many front-wheel drive vehicles require additional labor to access the filter as well. We provide our customers with transmission service that is specific to their vehicle, therefore, there may be considerable variation in the actual cost for a transmission fluid & filter service.
What is the average cost of repairing a transmission?
There is no average cost to repair a transmission. Often there is a misconception between repairing a transmission and rebuilding a transmission. A typical transmission rebuild involves:
- The removal of the unit
- Complete disassembly replacing all of the seals and gaskets replacing any of the damaged bearings gears or drums
- Replacing or rebuilding the valve body Replacing the solenoid packs as needed
- Installing a reconditioned torque converter
- Perform any factory suggested updates
A transmission repair may be as simple as replacing external speed sensors at a much lower price than a complete transmission rebuild.
